Present Your Bodies as a Living Sacrifice

Paul writes in Romans 12:1-2:

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God--what is good and acceptable and perfect."

We human beings regularly assume or think that God wants some of our gifts: our money, our songs, our prayers, our worship, our time, our energy, our efforts, our wisdom, our strength, our strategy, our manipulations, WHATEVER. BUT, what God REALLY wants or desires from us is ourselves--all of us. This is why Paul admonishes us "to present our bodies as a living sacrifice."

In 1984, Dwight Liles wrote the words and music of the song: "We are an Offering."

We lift our voices, we lift our hands,
We life our lives up to You, we are an offering.

Lord, use our voices, Lord, use our hands,
Lord, use our lives, they are Yours, we are an offering.

All that we have, all that we are, all that we hope to be,
We give to You, we give to You.

We lift our voices, we lift our hands,
We lift our lives up to You, we are an offering.

Ponder these thoughts. Pray about these sentiments daily.

Share YOUR ideas and insights with others. Let me hear from YOU.
